Buyer guidance

Compare corporate training options in the UAE

A UAE employer with a training obligation has three genuinely different options, and most shortlists confuse them. You can buy compliance courseware from a specialist vendor, you can stand up an open-source platform and put your own content in it, or you can send one person on an accredited course and leave the rest of the workforce untrained.

These guides compare Shog Corporate Training against one representative of each, using current public material. They concede what each option does better, and mark what a vendor does not publish as not published rather than as absent. Use them to build a shortlist and a consistent demonstration script, not as a substitute for legal and procurement review.

Detailed comparisons

Each guide carries a sourced matrix, honest fit guidance in both directions, UAE procurement questions, an evaluation checklist and a visible review date.

  1. Specialist compliance vendor

    CCL Academy

If you are a DIFC-regulated firm and your requirement is the DFSA induction or the annual CPD programme for your Senior Executive Officer, Compliance Officer or MLRO, buy CCL. We do not offer those programmes and are not a substitute for them.

  2. Open-source learning platform

    Moodle Workplace

If you have an internal learning team, someone who can design and write in Arabic, and a person who will own upgrades, buy Moodle Workplace through a Premium Partner. The licence sits far below commercial training platforms, the source code comes with it, and public certificate verification and expiry tracking are already solved there at no extra cost.

  3. Accredited individual qualification

    ICA

If you need one person carried to a recognised individual qualification, and you want the exam result to sit with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism as well as with you, buy the ICA/MoEc certificate. At USD 195 for six modules and a supervised exam it is inexpensive for what it is, and nothing on this page substitutes for a government-linked result trail.

What to evaluate

  1. Arabic, authored or translated

Sit the Arabic assessment, not the Arabic slides. Ask whether the Arabic was written as its own version or carried across from an English original, and which version the certificate names.

  2. What the certificate proves

Ask what identifies the person who earned it, what it says about the content taken, and whether a third party can confirm it without an account.

  3. Records an inspector can read

The UAE duties are record duties as much as training duties. Ask for the reports as files you can hand over, not as a dashboard.

  4. Where evidence is stored

Ask which country holds your certificates and identity evidence, under whose retention policy, and what you receive if you leave.

  5. Coverage of the whole workforce

Price every person you must train for the same year, not the compliance officer alone. That is where the options separate sharply.

  6. Who wrote the course

Ask for the author of each course and their standing in the subject, and whether the answer is a person or a content library.

How these comparisons are maintained

Statements about another vendor are limited to their own reviewed public materials. We do not infer an absent capability from silence; it is recorded as not published and should be tested with the vendor directly.

We do not publish invented scores, unverifiable prices or winner claims, and we name the regulation behind every compliance statement so you can check it yourself. Product scope and regulatory interpretation change, so every page carries its review date and is reviewed at least every 90 days.

Turn a shortlist into an evidence test

Read the course catalogue, then ask every vendor on your list for one completed certificate and the reports behind it. The differences show up faster there than in a feature grid.
